1. Maybe, just maybe, our goal for 2023 should not be to live more but to die more.
  2. Take courage, you who were lost: Jesus comes to seek and save that which is lost. Ye sick, return to health: Christ comes to heal the contrite of heart with the balm of his mercy. Rejoice, all you who desire great things: the Son of God comes down to you that he may make you the co-heirs of his kingdom.
  3. When and how did the church start this season of anticipation?
  4. For with God we look not for the order of nature, but rest our faith in the power of him who works.
  5. The reason that God’s commandments are not burdensome is that Jesus has fulfilled them.
  6. Both now and forever, the bruised and crucified Lord nailed to a cross is our assurance of deliverance.
  7. Righteousness before God is possessed only by grace and that through the currency of faith.
  8. Sometimes in hanging on to our useless guilt, we are idolaters. We believe our sin or conscience is more powerful than our God.
  9. We can appreciate what we have received from God, we can receive it all as free gift, but only when we stop investing in fool's gold.
  10. In the Reformation, as in the tabernacle, God gave skill, artistry, and craftsmanship to put his Word in images so that through art, his Word would be revealed.
