How’s your ticker?
-
God has a hall ready for us, for us and for so many more
-
The Lord has remembered to help his servant Israel, to fulfill his promises to Abraham and to his offspring forever, not mostly or mainly because of his mercy, but exclusively so.
-
This week, we’ll take a closer look at what it means to have a God who remembers us. Today, 1517 Scholar in Residence Chad Bird first introduces the Old Testament meaning behind the word and the Hebrew way of remembering.
-
Jesus weeps because his heart pulses with furious rage and fierce love.
-
While midnight might seem long, the mercy of God assures us that the morning will come.
-
Jesus cries on the cross for us. He suffers and cries and dies in our place. He is forsaken by his father so we don’t have to be.
-
His love for you is so deep that in his mercy, while you were yet a sinner, God sent his only begotten Son to die for you.
-
God is not calling us to “grow up.” He is calling us to dependence.
-
The mind-blowing part of this entire story, though, isn’t that only one leper came back to “give thanks,” but that the Lord Jesus healed all ten knowing full well that only one would come back.
-
From the beginning to the end of his letter, John really wants one thing: for us to be in Jesus.
