1. Your Big Brother, Yeshua… Joshua… Jesus, has done all things for your salvation.
  2. Jonah is not who you'd want to speak to an evangelism committee. In fact, it's arguable that he's the Bible's worst missionary.
  3. The little gold man has become one of my most prized possessions for he reminds me of God’s love for me.
  4. God goes to work on us through His Word like a woodcarver chisels a block of wood.
  5. When God adds His promise to creation, we understand a greater reality than what we see: Light given; Light that sustains life; Light that will end up living in the midst of his people forever.
  6. We focus on what we have, what we don't have, and how and when God is going to give us what we need. This the opposite of faith.
  7. We get the exact opposite of what we deserve.
  8. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is read out under the shade of my backyard tree. There, I have a reclining chair and small little side table.
  9. Looking at our dining room table most days, you might think we were running a cartoon factory out of our house. Drawings. Everywhere.
  10. It was Jesus who appeared to Hagar, comforted her, and gave her the promise of future blessings. It was Jesus who came to her when it seemed everything and everyone else had let her down.
  11. What we see in the face of this God is not a loathing expression. We find the face of a compassionate man who knew all about shame himself.
  12. Surely everyone reading at one time or another in their lives has heard the popular phrase I’m writing about today.
