1. The following poem was written by Tanner Olson to accompany 1517’s 2023 Advent Resources, The Clothing of the King. Advent begins this Sunday.
  2. Lord, remember us to remind us, that we may know all good things come from you.
  3. We have to “remember” that God remembers us. He has not fallen away. For God to remember us means he is working for our good; a restoration.
  4. What I desperately needed was not to preach to myself, but to listen to a preacher—not to take myself in hand, but to be taken in the hands of the Almighty.

  7. That great truth of creedal Christianity – that God is man in Christ – is not set forth for our speculative enjoyment.
  8. The good news of the Gospel is Jesus has come, and Jesus will come again.
  9. It makes perfect sense that the day honoring Jesus' birth would be observed in a decidedly less than refined manner.
  10. When we pray to Jesus, we pray to the King's right hand. We know one who has the Father's ear, respect and trust. And the one who intercedes for us is still one of us, with nail-pierced hands.
