1. When and how did the church start this season of anticipation?
  2. Help comes for those who cannot help themselves. When we bottom-out and come to the end of ourselves, that is where hope springs.
  3. Preachers and church workers must also hear the gospel preached to them.
  4. Through water, blood, and word, the Spirit never stops pointing us to Christ, and even more, giving us Christ.
  5. We need to hear the gospel because it is good news that is not from you, or about you, or because of you.
  6. Christ is not an idea. He isn’t a concept. He isn’t a religious notion or sentiment. He isn’t a product. He is the Savior, flesh and blood.
  7. Jesus remakes us, rebuilds us, and resurrects us so the demons that hide in the cracks cannot get ahold of us, the devil cannot break us, and hell will never know us.
  8. When we cry to the Lord in our trouble, he will send us a preacher with words that deliver us from destruction.
  9. The one who embodies the dove, that is, the Holy Spirit will be mounted upon the staff of Calvary.
