Eschatology (196)
  1. I’m still laughing now as hard as I laughed back then. And the salve that he gave me in that moment still works some strange magic on me to this day.
  2. In the twinkling of that eye the perishable will become imperishable, and our bodies will be changed and become more glorious than we ever could have imagined.
  3. When God sends them to hell, it is indeed punishment, but he’s only giving them what they asked for.
  4. Then He went to the coffin. He touched it, like a carpenter sizing up the piece of wood He plans to turn into some sort of new creation, running His hand down its side.
  5. Eschatology is the study of the last things or end times. It is one of the most talked about and sensationalized topics in modern evangelical Christianity. On this Episode, the Fellows are joined by Dr. Dan van Voorhis as they break down and simplify what often becomes an overcomplicated doctrine. Sit back, relax, grab a drink as everything comes to an end.
  6. You are changing as your eyes move over these sentences. You are aging. You are on your way to death. And nothing, absolutely nothing, can alter that fact.
  7. The Lord has a special place in his heart for those whom the world forgets. For the anonymous. For the rejected.
  8. The advent is an incredible time for the church. We focus in on and celebrate Christ's first coming in anticipation of His second advent: The restoration of all things.
  9. When we begin singing the opening hymn, our voices blend with those of angels in heaven, who have been belting out hymns long before we rolled out of bed that morning.
  10. You know what used to be easy? Going places. It’s true. When I was younger if somebody called me up on the spot and asked me to come over, I literally could say, “Alright, I’ll be right over,” and it was accurate.
  11. Is God the perfect loving father for whom we have all longed; or is he an angry, blood-thirsty deity who can only be appeased by the torture and death of his own child?
  12. Jesus simply can’t help himself. Over and over in the Gospels we find Jesus leaving a wake of physical restoration.
