1. In the tumultuous sea of information, opinions, and ideologies that break over us each day, we hold fast to the anchor of our faith—Jesus, the true prophet.
  2. The gospel tells me that the revelation of weakness in myself, my husband, and my son is the occasion for the revelation of God’s strength.
  3. The existence of aliens can not negate the promise given to us by God courtesy of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  4. While we wait in tribulation for our white robes (or pants) to be washed in the blood of the Lamb, we confess to one another our seen and unseen stains.
  5. Everything in Scripture is God revealing himself to his people, you and me.
  6. Christ Jesus brings his word and presence to where you are and he is even willing to do so through the likes of your personally present pastor.
  7. The Parable of the Lost Sheep bursts through the confines of convention and demands that we embrace the messiness of life and the unpredictable ways in which God's grace and forgiveness operates.
  8. One word from one God says it all to our tired hearts.
  9. When we forget that we live by promise, that's when the danger tends to creep in. Because failing to embrace promise means we usually fall back into notions of luck, or even worse--into works.
  10. Jesus is the only answer to the nagging question. He is the only way to make sense of this unsettling story in Exodus 4.

  12. This is the Christian word: grace. Such grace is found only with this Lamb who is also our Shepherd.
