The Bible isn’t a set of moral examples or religious insights. It’s the record of God’s saving work, fulfilled in Christ, delivered now through words spoken and heard.
Ultimately, Scripture does not confront fear with commands. It confronts fear with a promise.

What greater friend could we have than Jesus?
In both Psalms, we hear the Messiah becoming sin for us, and thus he pleads on our behalf before the Father
How does God feel about us sinners? God loves us so much that His stomach aches. His insides hurt. He refuses to let our sins separate us from Him. He refuses to let us die.
Our Creator wants to restore us to a right relationship with him and all creation. So, in his goodness and mercy, he sent his Son to for us what we couldn't do for ourselves.
There is a power that is stronger and mightier than the power of separation in death. And that power is the power of God’s love for you and me.

Love is to be the interpreter of law. Where there is no love, these things are meaningless, and law begins to do harm.
Love for our neighbor can be taxing. We may even decide it’s not worth the cost. But in this moment I found a blessed reminder of how different God's love is, and how our value rests in Christ alone.
