Easter (313)
  1. The Son is the rock or, put differently, Jesus is the Temple of God and, therefore, our one true hope, no matter the persecutions or hardships we may endure.
  2. When the apostles did something, it should beg a question: Does this remind you of anything? The answer will always be, “Yes. It reminds us of Jesus!”
  3. Jesus cries on the cross for us. He suffers and cries and dies in our place. He is forsaken by his father so we don’t have to be.
  4. In this episode of Preaching the Text, John Hoyum and Steve Paulson discuss an important story from the gospel of John that is often used for funerals.
  5. We recognize no race, no wealth, no class, no status, and no demographic. We have no political parties. We have a King.
  6. One glorious resurrection day, the strategy was to lead this flock called the Church “through the valley of the shadow of death” to eternal life in His Kingdom forever.
  7. On this episode of Preaching the Text, John Hoyum and Steve Paulson discuss the conversation of Jesus with the Pharisees in which Jesus identifies himself as the shepherd of the sheep.
  8. Although Jesus bodily ascended and is hidden from our earthly eyes, he is not far off.
