Easter (7)
  1. When Peter says to resist him, firm in your faith, he is not sending you out to do battle on your own. He is locating you. You are baptized into Christ.
  2. What ought the Christian to be prepared with, to faithfully, lovingly, and honestly defend the hope they have? The answer is her confidence in salvation which is located outside of herself, in the person and work of Christ.
  3. For Peter, growing up looks rather more like growing down.
  4. We are not free from God, we are free in Him, free in Christ, free in the shepherd, free in the door, free in the slave, free in the one who became a slave for me.
  5. Christ’s blood is imperishable. So are you! Death could not keep Him down, and you are born of the same stuff, the blood that has been delivered to you in the Word, the good news.
  6. Easter moves, Easter grows, Easter is transitive. It affects objects, it changes people, it does stuff.
  7. All will see His coming. All will see you in your appearance with Him. Until then, hear Him: Christ is dead and risen. Hear Him about you too: You are dead, and you too are risen in Him.
