1. Jesus has come that we might know God, not from a distance, but from His personal intervention in our lives.
  2. But notice one thing. When Jesus speaks of commands, He does so in the context of love.
  3. Even when you are not sure where Jesus is going, you are on the way, because you are with Him: The Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus is right by your side.
  4. So, we pray. Not just in times of need, but we pray at all times. Because this is part of what it means to be saved.
  5. Jesus opens for us a way to walk through suffering and to sing our song of salvation as we talk to our heavenly Father.
  6. What we have in our reading is a picture of how God deals with a lack of understanding.
  7. The days after Easter are strange. We are slowly returning to our patterns of Church life and family life after the festivities of Easter. Yet, we need to be careful we do not become too comfortable.
  8. The One who has defeated sin, death, and the Devil himself is now living in Heaven and praying for you.
  9. Jesus will suffer, die, and rise again for them. By this love, they are forgiven. By this love, they are made His friends: Friends of God.
  10. Jesus is the vine. You are His branches. And God the Father delights to bring the inside out.
  11. A wonderful intimacy, eternal and beyond our understanding, lies beneath the surface of these words. What is even more wonderful is how this intimacy is also ours. Through the saving work of Jesus, this intimacy is extended unto us.
