1. 1517 would not exist without the leadership, friendship, and faithfulness of Pastor Ron Hodel.
  2. The Savior wasn’t always forthright with his intentions behind using and relaying certain parabolic narratives.
  3. Great things are contained in these seemingly unimportant words: "Behold, your king." Such boundless gifts are brought by this poor and despised king.
  4. All human wisdom, righteousness, and holiness are made futile in that which belongs to God’s kingdom.
  5. God saves us through people. He saves us through means. He puts a voice on the gospel.
  6. Christians do have a hope that those who sleep in death will be awakened and their joy will never end, and we yearn for that day.
  7. The church’s song goes on and on, singing and ringing down to us today.
  8. This Christmas season we are thankful that even though we “fallers” are unable to climb up to God, he came down the ladder to us.
  9. While the world and other religions might be fine with considering him everything but, the foremost thing our Jesus came to be and still remains is Jesus, Savior.
  10. Love turns out to be not simply a thing or action, but a characteristic of God himself.
  11. The shepherds are the most unlikely people to play the role the angels cast them in.
  12. A madman king. State-decreed infanticide. A fleeing holy family. What does all this have to do with Christmas? And how did a day of horror also become a day of hope? Today, December 28, the church remembers The Holy Innocents.
