1. The lesson of Malachi reveals God’s love for his people. When the people ask for proof of God’s love, he reminds them of their election.
  2. God is not calling us to “grow up.” He is calling us to dependence.
  3. It all starts with God; and it all ends with God. He is the alpha and omega of giving and generosity.
  4. Help comes for those who cannot help themselves. When we bottom-out and come to the end of ourselves, that is where hope springs.
  5. Who is God really? He is offensive, anarchic by the world’s standards, and far too gracious to people who don’t deserve his time or attention.
  6. Our God is a living God and he listens to our cries for help.
  7. From the beginning to the end of his letter, John really wants one thing: for us to be in Jesus.
  8. The reason that God’s commandments are not burdensome is that Jesus has fulfilled them.
  9. Both now and forever, the bruised and crucified Lord nailed to a cross is our assurance of deliverance.
  10. Every day is a Sabbath for Christians. Every day is the day the Lord has made. Every day is a day to find rest in Christ.
  11. Righteousness before God is possessed only by grace and that through the currency of faith.
