Our sadness is never inconvenient or unimportant to Jesus.
-
In the end, my only hope is that Jesus is always the initiator of mercy. He pursues me, even when I am unfaithful.
-
While we are promised that God will always be with us, we are also told of the benefits that can come to us even in our pain.
-
It wasn’t that I didn’t love. I loved deeply, but I was also aware of the much deeper reservoir of self-love that kept me from ever loving fully.

I'm having one of those days. You know, the kind where you're filled with confusion, guilt, and fear? If you don't know what I'm talking about, just stop reading now.
-
“That can’t be right”, I thought to myself as I flipped back and forth between two verses in my Bible.
-
As far back as I can remember, even as a small child, I have desperately tried to understand what God’s expectations or requirements are regarding my behavior.

I am a time traveler now. It all started this past Christmas. My son gave my husband and me DNA kits, and the instructions suggested that.

At this time of year a lot of emphasis is placed on being good. Elves on Shelves everywhere are watching our behavior and snitching to Santa, who is making up his all important list of those who have been naughty and those who have been nice.
-
I don’t know if you’re like me or not, but ideas can kick around in my head in a big jumble for awhile and then, all of a sudden, something random makes all of the pieces come together.

As I was reading Romans 7 today, I was reminded of a pivotal scene in one of my favorite movies, As Good As it Gets.
