1. God's purposes for His people are good — not comfortable, not free of suffering, but good in the deepest sense. The exile ended. The Messiah came as promised. The tomb is empty.
  2. Jesus’ resurrection was not a witch bringing forth Samuel in the hidden recesses of a nighttime room. Jesus rose in broad daylight, from an empty tomb!
  3. While earthly kings demand that their people make sacrifices to them, and Zeus demanded sacrifices because he needed them, the true God made the ultimate sacrifice for you.
  4. Let us live by walking with Jesus, so that our Neo-Pagan neighbors, the witch, and frankly a lot of us Christians, can put down our crystals, our superstitions, our vision boards, and our bound sage in order to live out a liturgy of life, with rituals, practices, and behaviors that reflect who we are as followers of Christ.
  5. As Jesus hung on the cross there would be no last second escape. No Greek goddess would swoop in to rescue him. He suffered alone. And yet even in that suffering he declared his victory on the spiritual battlefield to be your victory.
