1. It is good to remember that this true story, is also beautiful.
  2. The Lord sees the blood of the Lamb upon us, but does not merely pass over us in mercy. He passes into us by grace.
  3. Who we are buried with matters. But there is no need to go out and find a dead prophet so you can join him six feet under.
  4. What grace is this? It’s grace from Christ, who often seizes us when we least expect it, even through the hands of His enemies.
  5. The promise here is that God is present with us in our troubles, issuing commands to save us before we ask. God does not ignore our suffering and cries.
  6. Lent means that we do not have to look to ourselves but can look to our neighbor in love as Christ has loved us.
  7. You can die now, you can let go, and because that is true, you can begin to live!
  8. God is not a preoccupied parent, he’s an invested and interested tender loving Father. He values what perplexes us.
  9. God is mercy. He was mercy then. He’s mercy now. God showed them His glory, if only a reflection, in the face of Moses.
  10. This world of unbearable grief and accidental calamity is being renewed and, soon, will be completely bereft of every pernicious foe.
  11. There is perhaps no better observation about the nature of anxiety and depression than its fundamental desire for avoidance.
