Yahweh who is pierced and mourned in prophecy is Jesus who is pierced and mourned in fulfillment.

There is indeed a responsibility for the church to share the gospel in the world, but never at the expense of the church’s charity and mercy for those neighbors who are nearby.

The only hope for idol-addicted sinners who are utterly incapable of decluttering their souls is Jesus, the one at the heart of the gospel, and the only one who stands before the Father with an undivided heart.

Jesus simply can’t help himself. Over and over in the Gospels we find Jesus leaving a wake of physical restoration.

King has some kind of belief in God, but was probably under no inner compulsion to do anything we would term evangelism.

Because I do care now, and will care even after I’m with the Lord, here are some things I hope and pray are not said at my funeral. I care about those who will be there, about what they will hear.
