1. In the season of Epiphany, we focus on the revelation of who Jesus is. From a clearer understanding of who He is, we will be in a better position to know who we are.
  2. The ancients had a process for preparing to give a speech that has come down to us as the so-called “canons” (or stages) of rhetoric, which continues to be useful for orators of all kinds, not least preachers.
  3. God’s Spirit, the Paraclete, works through the promises spoken by God’s people. Through those promises, He leads people to look for the Lord’s salvation.
