1. When I finished this book, I loved the Bible, and the Bible’s author, even more. And I can’t imagine a better endorsement than that.
  2. Scripture is clear in its main teachings and doctrines. People don’t need any special knowledge or training to understand sin, grace, forgiveness, and salvation.
  3. When Revelation’s words read against their original context, old meaning and new meaning are simultaneously brought to light as language and imagery is translated from the Old Testament to the New.
  4. He begins the letter with grace and peace (2 Pet 2:1) - gifts that had been given them by God through the righteousness of his Son, Jesus Christ, their Lord, and Master.
  5. This letter is not without controversy—not because of its content but due to questions concerning its authorship and canonicity.
  6. These new texts and manuscripts, while not altering the message of the text, can give us better insight into particular historical and grammatical issues.
  7. Press further on the historicity of the Bible, and we start to get fidgety.
