1. After setting aside the written Word of God, the Word of God in flesh began to open His mouth to proclaim the spoken Word.
  2. He was invited like all the other guests. The hosts simply wanted Him to be part of the happy crowd. They got more than they asked for.
  3. Luke tells us John “preached good news to the people.” Really? “Good” news?
  4. While it is true Jesus was much more than a teacher, it is equally true that He was nothing less, which suggests a sermon on this text might explore Jesus’ teaching ministry; both then and now.
  5. The faithful who gather for worship have heard and believed this promise, and they too are saved. But they need to hear it again.
