1. While today we read all of the names of those who have departed this year, we do not lump them all together. Instead, we are asked to see them as God sees them, as individuals.
  2. Our hope of a joyful reunion with our loved ones who died confessing the name of Jesus is as sure and certain as the death and resurrection of Jesus.
  3. Jesus is the life of the people of God and, once more, at the empty doorway of His tomb He is the Word of everlasting life because He is not dead but alive forever.
  4. Jesus is the ultimate, endearing, and definitive answer to the world’s problems, not any political party or ideology, nor any religion or the combination of the two.
