Preaching (2019)
  1. Sometimes the answer God gives to our “ask” means the end of what we want and the advent of what He wants for us and the world.
  2. A fact-checked false sermon does untold spiritual damage to both souls and the Kingdom of Christ.
  3. The consequences of Christmas are severe, and they do not stop in the little town of Bethlehem.
  4. We receive everything we need for our life and salvation from our Messiah Jesus. Think about how much He takes on just to have us.
  5. It is in the gritty that the Lord Jesus reveals Himself; always in the low, the palpable, the material, the immanent, inviting you to guide your own sermon for this Sunday after Christmas in the direction of delivering the grit.
  6. Jesus’s travel to Egypt reminds us that we are a missionary people, together as we pray and send, individually as God plumps us down in the midst of situations in which he calls on us to give witness to him and to the trust in him that sustains us in daily life.
