Preaching (84)
  1. Preachers are called upon to report the events that took place as Jesus journeyed towards the cross with the intention of reassuring our hearers of the trustworthiness of Christ’s work for their salvation.
  2. Usually, our preaching directs us to the works of God. But this week, we focus on the nature of God. Trinity Sunday names the God of the First Commandment who we are to fear, love, and trust above all else.
  3. Pastor Hiller Teaches On Mark 7:1-13
  4. Pastor Bob Hiller joins Kelsi to discuss all things preaching: what is the content and aim of preaching?
  5. On this last week in the church year, we are to awaken our congregations to Christ's return and fix their drowsy eyes on the salvation promised by our glorious, crucified Lord.
  6. The imagery of a worship service in scripture is not one of consumers being entertained, but of God’s people being gathered around the Throne of the Lamb, joining the heavenly chorus of saints and angels to sing God’s praise and receive Christ’s benefits.
  7. This time of year, the preacher can be tempted to focus so much on the deeds of the saints and others, that they miss what makes a person a saint in the first place: Christ’s atoning blood.
  8. Like a good field general, to conclude his epistle, Paul equips us for battle. He gives us the gifts and the armor we need to “stand against the schemes of the devil."
