Preaching (2161)
  1. No matter how dark it gets you have more reason to have “increased joy” and to “rejoice and be glad” (verse 3) because you have the word of promise and its fulfillment in Christ.
  2. Paul instructs Timothy on how to save both himself and his hearers. Craig and Troy feel momentary conviction over being irreverent and silly.
  3. The answer to our messages is God's "yes," Jesus, who sends his preachers to proclaim that there's no place for us now other than in the grip of our God and Savior.
  4. In this episode of Preaching the Text, we explore John's ministry of pointing to Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
  5. The sermon takes place in the context of a multi-facetted set of relationships experienced through the weeks and months of being together in congregation and community. Those relationships shape the credibility of the preacher in the pulpit.
  6. He will safely birth us from this world, which is like a womb, into Heaven itself. On that day we will truly see the creation as it was made to be, restored and perfect in eternity forever.
  7. Human history and especially the Christian life have a shape, and Jesus is its shaper at every point, infusing even the mundane and the difficult with sanctifying purposes, ultimate meaning, and enduring hope.
  8. When all the people had been baptized, when all the people had washed the filth of their sins into the water, Jesus went into the water to draw their sins unto Himself.
  9. Run away from churches that don't proclaim Christ and Him crucified! (Oh, and Craig and Troy explain why you should.)
  10. In this episode of Preaching the Text, we discuss Christ's baptism by John in the Jordan River.
