  1. This new life is marked not by fear of death but hope in eternal life.
  2. We subject ourselves to the governing authorities for the sake of our neighbor, that they might be protected from our sinful nature that seeks our advantage over theirs (and vice versa)
  3. You are free from allowing anyone to cast doubt on your salvation based upon your political preferences. And free from causing anyone else to question their faith due to what Christian convictions they may have to compromise to vote in one direction or the other.
  4. While you wait for Ferdinand to get shot, here's something to think about...
  5. Faithful preachers should remain steadfast in the biblical categories and terminology and preach the reality of death.
  6. Elections and presidents and politics and voting. Repent and believe the good news! Everything will be ok.
  7. Sometimes the guilt in us manifests itself in different ways. Whether it's a weight or sadness, anger or venting, blame or defensiveness, we see it in ourselves and we see it in our relationships.
  8. This earth is not the place where your promise is to be found. Rejoice because the kingdom of God comes to you!
  9. This prayer expresses the feeling of separation and the resulting distress from feeling like we are abandoned.
  10. This is a prayer which orients us in the morning to offer our lives to God with trust and thanksgiving.
  11. Psalm 4 reminds us that our daily lives are lived in a battlefield.
