Pentecost (600)
  1. By the mighty acts of the Lord God, the great I Am, we are set free and forgiven on account of Jesus’ shed blood and third day righteousness.
  2. Paul and company’s constant prayer for their readers/hearers is that they be filled with knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual insight, “To walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him".
  3. Jesus sends all His people, according to their various vocations, to proclaim His praises and to bring comfort and forgiveness to the people around them.
  4. Christ’s cross , Christ’s marks, Christ’s grace, and Christ’s Law of love are on display in this concluding section of Paul’s letter.
  5. It is well with our soul, because Christ has conquered the grave and brought hope and light to life through His resurrection.
  6. You find God where you least expect Him. You find Him in humility, in suffering, in a small thing, even a cross.
  7. “Fruit” is the Christian character, the thing that spills out from all who have the spirit of God delivered to them in their baptism.
  8. Jesus will not give you a convenient, comfortable message to preach this Sunday. But, because He fixed His gaze on the cross, He has called you to something greater than convenience.
