1. We assert, we herald, the truth about God becoming King of the world in and through Jesus of Nazareth alone. It is our public announcement.
  2. The reason that God’s commandments are not burdensome is that Jesus has fulfilled them.
  3. The love mentioned in 1 John 4:15-21 fourteen times (!) is a love that needs no apology but is determined at all times to sacrifice for the other.
  4. Faith is like a horse with blinders because it only beholds God’s promise. It is obsessed with what God has already said.
  5. Christian mercy should not seek its own. It must be round, and open its eyes and look at all alike, friend and foe, as our heavenly Father does.
  6. I trust that because of the gospel, God will continue to mend what I, in my sin, continue to break.
  7. In the Church, the cry is, “He loves,” and it is that message which transforms our worldviews from taking to giving, from radical individualism to trans-demographic inclusivism, from selfishness to selflessness, from “tolerate my rights” to “loving rightly together.”
  8. Faith should later again flow forth from our heart’s depths to our neighbor freely and unhindered in good works; not that we wish to rest our salvation in them; for God will not have that, but wishes the conscience to rest in himself alone.
  9. The goal of language in the mouth of a Christian isn’t to hold power for ourselves but to give it.
  10. Here is the foundational cure for the evils of racism in human society, faith in Christ as definitive for racial identification.
  11. Jesus comes to you. He binds your wounds, and he pours out his body and his blood for the forgiveness of your sins.
  12. Here is someone to love; they’re not a Christian. They’re not very clean and don’t seem to care. Love them. Let your life become intertwined with theirs. Let it cost you something.
