  1. You gotta serve/work for/obey/be of use to somebody . . . will it be for selfish gathering of treasures that fade and decay, or will it be service that comes from a sincere faith and a pure heart?

What does God call us to in our families? If I'm to serve my neighbor, how do I know who that is? Once again, John helps to keep the us practically centered on Jesus Christ.

  10. So, look . . . if you want to rely upon works of the Law to lay claim to the title "child of God," you can't. To be under the Law is to be a slave, and slaves are not sons.
