Grace (331)
  1. When man gives freedom it sometimes ends up being more confining. When man fights for equality it ends up being more oppressive. Repent and believe the Good News!
  2. Christians have the rare faculty, above all other people on earth, of knowing where to place their care, while others vex and torture themselves and at length must despair.
  3. We forget that Christians need the Gospel. Not as a side note, but as the front-page headline.
  4. We’ve become experts at making deals with God.
  5. A truly Christian work is it that we descend and get mixed up in the mire of the sinner, taking his sin upon ourselves and floundering out of it with him, not acting otherwise than as if his sin were our own.
  6. Professor and author John Pless extends his time with Craig and Troy as we go deeper with this notion of "vocation." What does God call us to in society? What does God call us to in our families? If I'm to serve my neighbor, how do I know who that is? Once again, John helps to keep the us practically centered on Jesus Christ.
  7. Sometimes I think I've gone through the whole forgiveness process, but forgiveness for me often feels like I'm weeding my garden. I forgive and another offense pops up.
  8. Craig and Troy wrap up the book of Galatians as Paul cuts the circumcision crowd down to size.
  9. Christ presents to us such liberty, so that we as Christians according to our faith may tolerate no other master, but only hold that we are baptized and called unto Christ, and through him have become justified and sanctified.
  10. If the world could have been saved by bookkeeping, it would have been saved by Moses, not Jesus. The law was just fine.
  11. The enemy comes with his wounding, haunting words, and I stand behind my advocate Christ the Lord. He gives me more words, better words, truer words.
  12. We are free to be in the world, but not of the world. We are freed to stop treating the pursuit of pleasure as an escape from pain, suffering, and death.
