  1. Herod fulfills his promise so that Jesus can fulfill His; John decreases, Jesus increases.
  2. Just like in the previous interview, I had to rewind to make sure I was hearing all this right. Yeah, that's actually what he said.
  3. When sin comes out of the shadows and makes itself known, Christians can rest in and declare Christ's resurrection.
  4. We do not have to endure the pain and suffering of this fallen existence forever, just for a little while.
  5. The good news is Christ Jesus is faithful to the end, even to the point of death and through death, with a steadfast and vocal faith in God our Savior for those who cannot do so in their lives any longer on account of their altered state.
  6. We are all veterans of some sort. Wounded from little wars with no heroes welcome and scars disguised as character flaws. Let the dead bury their own. Grab a seat, O weary soldiers. Let us entertain you with a fairy tale that might be actually be real.
  7. Death may speak, and its voice may sound authoritative and decisive. Nonetheless, it is a mere whimper from the grave.
  8. Ash Wednesday, is meant to remind us we have a death problem. All living things made from the soil shall return to it.
  9. Out of great pain and suffering often comes goodness, beauty, and truth. John Donne, born on the 22nd of January in 1573, is an excellent example of that for us in his masterful work, Death Be Not Proud.
  10. Perhaps this past year has prompted the recognition that God is not the tame projection of our highest hopes and dreams. Instead, he is the one who uses even his foes to make a point.
  11. So what happens when you come to the lowest moment of your life and doubt that anything good can come out of it? God meets you there in His Redeemer. Craig and Troy finish up the book of Ruth.
  12. Faithful preachers should remain steadfast in the biblical categories and terminology and preach the reality of death.
