  2. A life of faith is lived by “fixing our eyes on” the object of faith, even Jesus, the one dead and raised.
  3. Christian hope is not a pie-in-the-sky optimism in the face of lousy circumstances. Christian hope is assurance in the now for the not yet.
  4. The new life that is hidden in Christ through burial and resurrection is a new life that starts at your baptism, God’s work on your behalf that has ongoing effects.
  5. This is what baptism indicates. It is an identity with the victor. It is comforting that the enemies have no hold on me, on us.
