1. The powerful images presented easily capture your hearers’ imaginations, who may or may not already have assumptions about their meaning. This is fertile ground for your preaching.
  2. Paul fills the courtroom with questions, but the Christian ultimately answers none of them. God answers them all.
  3. The mystery of grace, though, is that He chose such a thing and then, in His naming, His declaring, His taking these wretches to Himself, they do, in fact, become His “treasured” possession.
  4. Though we live in the assurance that the reign of God is happening now, much in our lives causes a longing for what has not yet come to pass.
  5. Whether sigh or groan, weeping or loud cry, Christ does not stand aloof from the world’s groaning. He, in fact, enters it.
