1. We will not become hopeless because the Lord is with us.
  2. Don't lose hope. Don't avoid church on Sunday morning.
  3. God's power and works are awesome and cannot be stifled. His grace and mercy will be heard above the growls and howls of those who deny Christ Jesus is God and Savior
  4. As a parent listens for the cry of a hurting child, our heavenly Father waits for our cry of weal and woe.
  5. The unbeliever will search for relief from temptations in worldly prescriptions and pleasures. The believer searches for answers in the promises of the One who can bring true lasting peace in mind, body, and soul.
  6. Only when we stand where God has located Himself for us do we find an imperishable promise.
  7. His word is what strengthens and changes our hearts. The Lord God will bring us victory.
  8. Zipporah and Moses were bound by blood. More than that, God and Moses were bound by blood.
  9. The promise of Advent is the promise of the lamb slain, who is born and given for us so that we don’t have to fear sin, death, and hell.
  10. Advent is the season when the Church declares to a world overwhelmed by excuses, lies, and cruelty that their Savior comes.
  11. Often, when we talk about the Old Testament, we talk about God's promises and work for his chosen people, Israel.
  12. Whenever I read the Genesis account of Abraham, I’m more impressed that he’s often a clumsy, mess of a man than that it’s “faith that’s accounted to him as righteousness.”
