Preaching (2182)
  1. People enjoy listening to stories. We probably should tell stories. But why? What is it about stories that resonates and how can we tell them better?
  2. As much as we want the glory, riches, and knowledge of Dantes, what we need is Jean Valjean's candlesticks.
  3. On this episode of Preaching the Text, Steve Paulson and John Hoyum discuss Christ's parable of the wedding garment.
  4. The parable makes obvious what is rarely apparent: God is the absolute Lord of all, and human rebellion is both wicked and futile.
  5. It was the death of David’s greater son who would die for his sin and our sin in order that we might know the mercy of God to cover all our sin and sour grapes.
  6. Paul had no credit because the Law could not atone for his sin. It could not render him positively righteous before the face of God, even though it gave him boasting rights before the Law.
  7. We need better conversations around preaching. "Lutheran Preaching?" provides us with insightful conversation partners who will challenge and excite us to become better at our craft.
  8. In episode TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY-ONE, Wade, Mike, Jason and Mark Paustian (a returning guest) from Martin Luther College recorded from Jason’s basement compound.
