  1. From the very beginning, the community that God was forming was going to be much more inclusive than anyone could have imagined.
  2. The same words of hope and peace that were entrusted to Israel are available to all, to “everyone who believes” (Acts 10:43).
  3. The ethos of the church’s worship is found in poor, needy, and desperate sinners finding solace and relief in the God of their salvation.
  4. He doesn’t consume us, even though that is what we deserve. Instead, Jesus comes down to us and consumes all our sin by taking it on himself.
  5. “The fear of the Lord” is our heart’s awakening to and recognition of God’s outrageous goodness.
  6. Despite the best efforts of that council to silence Jesus of Nazareth and his message, it wasn't enough. Jesus was alive.
  7. Press on, church. Yours is the victory through Jesus Christ your Lord.
  8. With so many TV preachers, pastors, and Bible teachers claiming to be authoritative voices for God himself, how do you know who to listen to?
  9. If your faith is rooted in the gospel of Zion, in the good news of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection on your behalf, you are already a member of the “heavenly Jerusalem”
  10. How can we be sure that we are getting a “solid spiritual diet” and not a “milky” one?
  11. Help comes for those who cannot help themselves. When we bottom-out and come to the end of ourselves, that is where hope springs.
  12. My words are peanuts compared to the porterhouse of God’s Word.
