Gospel (995)
  1. The urgency of the call which you proclaim is not necessarily to do something radically different but to remain steadfast in what they are already doing.
  2. On All Saints’ Day, we are intentionally being reminded about those who have gone before us, those saints who are now at rest from their labors, yet they still remain as part of the body of Christ.
  3. Since we are accustomed to approaching these words of God with the certainty of sin in our minds, I would like to try approaching them with the certainty of salvation in mind.
  4. The religious leaders thought Jesus was threatening to tear down the Temple. Instead, He was expanding it, so it encompassed and served the world.
  5. The parable, like a cubist painting, is disorienting. And finding a reasonable explanation is not going to make the disorientation go away.
  6. Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough! In this episode, we continue our conversation about repentance, reading Rev. Dr. James Nestingen’s article on the Gospel and Repentance. We discuss Luther's view of the Gospel’s relationship to repentance, preaching a doable law, and what awaits those who leave the Church in a state of unrepentance. This and much, much more on this week’s episode of the podcast.
  7. The love of God here is amazing. Jesus warns them of God’s judgment in order that He might save them from sin.
