Gospel (869)
  1. At the end of the day, what do you want to be known for? Your opinions, or your Savior?
  2. Charlie Kirk’s murder is a reminder that Christians will be hated for what we believe, teach, and confess about this sinful world and because of the God who has died and risen to save it.
  3. The Nicene Creed is the gospel distilled—a refined and concentrated byproduct of Scripture’s own witness to the grace and power of God in Jesus Christ.
  4. Preaching this text is to call for joy, joy for the fellowship that has been found, the fellowship that gathers together this very day.
  5. Matthew’s gospel speaks the truth in love, and the truth it speaks is the dead and living Lord Jesus exclusively, and all nations, Jews and Gentiles, inclusively.
  6. To confess Christ crucified and risen as the only hope in a world that has lost its mind to wickedness and rage.
  7. The text stands as an exhortation and warning. The challenge will be to make sure it is also an encouragement to the failing and wayward disciples who sit before you.
  8. The reason Christians argue so much about the sacraments is because, deep down, they matter.
  9. He tries to open their eyes to see that the Sabbath is a time for saving life, not seeking to destroy it, for experiencing the love of God, not for practicing hatred.
