  1. No matter how far away they wander, God always hears the prayers of his children.
  2. The hardest thing you and I will ever be called to do is to believe that it is done already, that it really and truly is finished.
  3. All of Scripture, every last syllable of it, is meant to drive us to "consider Jesus," the One who comes to "make us right" by gifting us his righteousness.
  4. Both now and forever, the bruised and crucified Lord nailed to a cross is our assurance of deliverance.
  5. To “trust in God in trial” means we fight our battles by kneeling and praying to “the Holy One of Israel,” who works out our deliverance by himself.
  6. The undercurrent of Scripture is the sheer fact that Jehovah God is a God of his word.
  7. In the face of abject evil, these two faithfully cling to the words and truths of he alone who is Good, Jehovah God.
  8. My one hope of not only entering a right relationship with God but also stepping into glory is the same: it’s Christ. It’s always Christ.
  9. The Son of God is still God the Son in the Incarnation.
  10. The Psalms aren’t the clandestine successes of a faithful soul, but are the journaled hopes of a desperate soul — of one teetering on the edge of oblivion.
  11. If you and I were to examine our own lives, we’d likely have to admit that we are frequent disciples of Jeroboam’s “bootleg religion.”
  12. God’s plans and purposes for this world aren’t dependent upon us. They’re dependent upon him. This means our faith is liberated.
