Promises of God (236)
  1. The Lion of Judah, Christ the King, Jesus of Nazareth, will not be away from us for one night.
  2. It is Jesus himself who is the ladder by which sinners get to God, not by them climbing up but by God climbing down.
  3. Once again, Samson feels he's been wronged.
  4. So, how many ways can Samson violate his Naziritic vows (that's a question, Samson, not a challenge!)?
  5. The beginnings of Samson the Nazirite and his vows.
  6. Gideon swears that none but God will be the leader of Israel, and then immediately becomes a tyrant.
  7. Like Jacob, sinners approach the Heavenly Father wearing the clothes of their older brother, Jesus.
  8. God always seems to work through that which is least likely to work, so that all glory is ascribed to Him.
  9. What we do much less of, even in Christian circles, is recognize just how pervasive sin is, such that it has thoroughly corrupted us.
  10. Gideon accepts the call of the Lord whole-heartedly . . . well actually no.
  11. God chose Russell Brand, chose to defy his fast-escaping life and drink up all his swift-running sin in the River Thames.
  12. The story of Deborah, Barak, and Jael is interesting and complicated.
