Pentecost (606)
  1. We know not how, and we do not know when, but God works according to His perfect will and His perfect timing.
  2. With the resurrection of the Christ the mystery of life after death became a lot less mysterious.
  3. God's new planting will keep the ancient Messianic covenantal promise alive and bring it to fruition.
  4. Eyes which are fixed on what is unseen will see the whole world in a different way.
  5. Questions and opinions about Him varied, but one thing was certain, Jesus was causing a major commotion. He could not be ignored.
  6. This is the first direct promise of the Seed who will reunite all mankind to God by defeating Satan on the Cross.
  7. Take a break from wailing at your own personal wailing wall made up of unfulfilled dreams, cold-hearted gods, and broken relationships. Pull the tab on a Schlitz and sit down for some yucking it up, and little Holy Spirit! We’ll buy this one: just relax.
  8. The Holy Spirit is sent, not to talk about himself, but to point us to Jesus.
  9. The Apostle Peter’s monumental sermon on Pentecost declares the Kingdom purposes and divine saving work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit which culminates in the new world order with Christ in charge.
  10. Pentecost reminds us of not only what happened on that day described in Acts 2 but what is happening every day: the Spirit of God working in and through God’s people, according to his word.
  11. There is no life when one is separated from the Promised Land because that will be the place where God will send His Messiah.
  12. Pentecost is the event which jolts the world into taking note that something entirely new is taking place.
