Old Testament (1223)
  1. The mystery of grace, though, is that He chose such a thing and then, in His naming, His declaring, His taking these wretches to Himself, they do, in fact, become His “treasured” possession.
  2. Jesus can ferret out the difference between the darnel/weeds and the wheat. It is on the threshing floor of Calvary where that work is done. There, the wheat and the chaff are separated.
  3. Just like you cannot stop the rain by shouting, so you cannot stop the plans of God from coming down.
  4. The King Becomes a Stump
  5. This peace from Christ was bought with no less strife or warfare than what earthly peace is won with.
  6. A Fourth Man in the Furnace
  7. Who would not want to see the exiles return and the temple restored? Unfortunately, God calls Jeremiah to be the bearer of bad news.
  8. A Stone Aimed at the Feet
  9. God knows he is struggling, yet the struggle does not nullify God’s gracious love for him.
  10. Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar's Dream
  11. Just as God on “Eagles’ wings” miraculously provided manna and water and life by His Word to Israel in the desert, so Jesus gather’s His Church as a hen would to give of Himself like the pelican to us in our journey through life in this Pentecost season of the Church Year.
  12. Hosea also portrays God in a very intimate and husbandly way, reaching out to the one He loves when love is abused and lost.
