Old Testament (1198)
  1. Good guys, bad guys, horses, chariots, and sand on the seashore.
  2. Isaiah 2:1-5... is a beautiful eschatological prophecy focusing on the era of peace that comes along with the coming of the LORD.
  3. Chad and Daniel spend quite a bit of time discussing violence and death in the Bible. Five kings are trapped in a cave and Israel is winning battle after battle.
  4. In many ways [this text] brings to mind Judgement Day and the separation of the sheep from the goats when Christ the King comes to take His treasured possession home to be with Him in the courts of everlasting life.
  5. Five kings rise up to go to war. We remember the plagues of Egypt. And the sun stands still?
  6. These last words of the Old Testament Scriptures prepare us for the incarnation and beyond.
  7. Israel’s neighbors trick them into making a covenant with them in a strange way. How will Joshua deal with his promise when he discovers they have been deceived?
  8. Note Moses’ big question is, “Who am I?” However, this is the wrong question. It matters not who Moses is, or who we are. What matters is who God is.
  9. Everything is destroyed and something very unpleasant is done to the king of Ai that ends up pointing us to Jesus.
  10. Even though the sins of the Israelites are great, like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. In spite of great transgression, there is even greater forgiveness.

  12. Throughout Scripture it is clear that the “keeper” is the LORD... It is the LORD who “keeps” His people and His creation. He is the creator and sustainer (keeper).
