New Testament (1371)
  1. As we move towards the end of the Song of Songs, once again we are confronted with the depths and riches of God's perfect love for us.
  2. Jesus leaves us hanging. Does the tree improve? Does the owner of the vineyard even grant the vinedresser another year? Or does the tree finally get the ax?
  3. The promise is rooted in the fact that the only way we can endure any ounce of suffering in this life is because Jesus Christ.
  4. Jesus' course led from death into life, as He had promised. And He promises to lead us on that same course from death to life, from lament to joy.
  5. We are standing within the body of Christ. This gives us the strength to stand, and it strengthens us in heart and mind, body and soul.
  6. Except that we see Him--and see Him plainly--in Christ.
