  1. For those who hear the Father’s Word of forgiving love in Christ, the “I will not” changes to an, “I will.”
  2. We expect God to be at least as fair our society. But that is not how God operates.
  3. The worthy life is not payment for citizenship. It is the life of a citizen who knows where home is... and who has built the house!

  5. There is no problem with Christians developing different practices, cultural traditions, and the like. The problem arises when these become the badge of belonging, when they become the badge of righteousness.
  6. Peter asks the kind of question asked by those who keep records, who keep score. Which reminds me that we are a score-keeping people.
  7. Jesus is showing the disciples that humility is not only about how we present ourselves before God. It also has to do with our love and service to the least among us.
