New Testament (1704)
  1. "Is all that we see or seem, but a dream within a dream?" Poe is wrong. Though we have lulled ourselves asleep, the reality is far brighter and beautiful than we imagine. Christ is risen and so shall we. The dreamer who dreams is He.
  2. It is hard to see clearly these days. While we have never been able to see as much as we would like, today we are more aware of our inability to perceive things as they really are.
  3. Because we have this hope and calling, we must speak boldly and plainly; no veil, no shiny veneer, just the truth about God nailed to a tree.
  4. A kept promise to deliver you from the principles of the world.
  5. What is Jesus' conception of, “How is God’s kingship made effective?” It would happen through preaching.
  6. Saint Paul recognizes the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus is how the Spirit of God translates people from death and darkness to life and light.
  7. Baptism, Faith, and Children of Promise.
  8. God’s people have gathered in worship while there is a war going on, and this war has two opponents: The Kingdom of Satan and the Kingdom of God. There is no middle ground.
  9. This Spirit of love permits no Christian to exercise their freedom at the expense of another Christian still troubled by old associations.
  10. Faith alone in Christ alone or a curse.
  11. But Jesus comes to us today and reminds us that He has the power to make disciples in the midst of conflict and suffering.
  12. Because this life is transient and we already live in the new and eternal age restored in Christ (at least in part), our preoccupations are different to those bound to this world and life.
