Love of God (224)
  1. We think that if we are good enough, brave enough, or at least if we try hard enough, we will be someone who can be both fully known and fully loved.
  2. We love those who enable us to see our love for ourselves reflected back at us.
  3. True love isn't a thing. We can't find true love in our souls, soul mates, or safe spaces. We can't marry true love, buy it, or create it from scratch.
  4. Forgiveness, not love, can restore a relationship that’s top-heavy with negative emotions.
  5. What do we say when a Christian admits the church has driven them to atheism? And they don't mean ideologically.
  6. It wasn’t that I didn’t love. I loved deeply, but I was also aware of the much deeper reservoir of self-love that kept me from ever loving fully.
  7. “I love you” is great, as long as whatever commitment I may or may not be intimating is mutually beneficial and causes the least amount of emotional strain to me.
  8. Love is the ultimate gift from God. To be loved by him for all eternity is truly the ultimate goal.
  9. I love apologetics, the art, and science of defending the Christian faith. I love talking about all the philosophical arguments for the existence of God with my skeptical friends.
  10. On Holy Trinity Sunday, God draws our attention, not to the inner workings of the Trinity, but the outer workings of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  11. Because of the ascension, the manger has become the cosmos.
  12. When we get wrapped up in tying God down, when we worship and work in a way that seems good to each of us, it’s impossible to recognize God as loving Father and helpful Savior.
