Life of Christ (81)
  1. How many times in our lifetime must we sigh, floundering through this world with our sins, sorrows, struggles, frustrations, fears, and foes?
  2. Christians don’t need a bucket list. We’ve got the whole bucket: the Word fulfilled, life fulfilled, and life in full.
  3. Be relieved, whatever has had you anxious. He is with us and about his Father’s business, which is your salvation.
  4. Belief at Christmas is neither neat nor safe. It is the path that leads to the manger and, from there, to the cross.
  5. Are you looking for rest? Is your heart cluttered? Are you searching for comfort? Just look at the King-sized bed.
  6. The grain of God’s goodness and grace is made known by many trees throughout the Bible.
  7. Jesus rests in a manger in the days to come, but don’t be fooled.
  8. This is the third article in a special three-part Advent series on how Jesus is our prophet, priest, and king.
  9. No amount of ritual, sacrifice, devotion, or money could ever do what Jesus of Nazareth was sent to accomplish.
  10. We can do nothing to warrant entry into the kingdom of God nor are we getting in if we think a seat at God’s table is something to which we are entitled.
  11. Five promises were seemingly all those apostles, staring into the sky, had to go on. Five promises that were more than enough.
  12. The price was really paid. Your sin remains buried in Christ’s tomb.
