  1. Her name meant “Rebel” or “Rebellion”. In a culture where your name was thought to reveal your whole character, either in a prophetic sense or as it was known and manifested, it was an interesting choice.
  2. I’m going to begin at the beginning. But which one? Birth? Kindergarten? My first drink? The first time I had sex?
  3. “Obey God and he will bless you,” says the wind and the reed is bent over and bruised throughout. “God will never stop loving you but you can disappoint him,” says the wind and the once lit candle is now a sad smoldering wick.
  4. We just finished celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

  8. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been anxious about something. I can still feel the weight of worry from my earliest fears - believing every night I would get sucked down the pipes along with dirty, draining bath water.
  9. I spend a lot of time talking to people in coffee shops. Some share my Christian faith, some are exploring and questioning faith and others have left the church, having had a crisis of faith.
  10. Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.
  11. The sight of indulgences being bought and sold is just not something I witness on a regular basis.
  12. We focus on what we have, what we don't have, and how and when God is going to give us what we need. This the opposite of faith.
