God the Father (273)
  1. The doctrine of the Trinity is not so much the story of a “who-dunnit” as it is the story of the “who-is-it.”
  2. It is impossible to live our lives in a way that would convince God of our value because he already knows our value. He is the one who gave it to us.
  3. It is your privilege—we may even say “right”—to call upon this Father and to call him Father.
  4. Everything in Scripture is God revealing himself to his people, you and me.
  5. When we forget that we live by promise, that's when the danger tends to creep in. Because failing to embrace promise means we usually fall back into notions of luck, or even worse--into works.
  6. The drama of Scripture is about God renaming us by bringing us into his image-bearing family once again. And it would take “a name above all names” to accomplish it.
  7. Christ our Word, as with a two-edged sword, burst the devil's belly.
  8. Both now and forever, the bruised and crucified Lord nailed to a cross is our assurance of deliverance.
  9. Every day is a Sabbath for Christians. Every day is the day the Lord has made. Every day is a day to find rest in Christ.
  10. Logos theology is a theology of presence without division. It is a way of unification, of which the incarnation is the greatest visible example.
  11. It’s the notion of mercy that leads us to the atonement, and it is the atonement that provides a foundational basis for the justification of sinners.
  12. When God makes promises, he is incapable of not keeping them.
