Comfort (189)
  1. Even when God doesn’t take away the troubled waters of our life, he is the Bridge we can lean on no matter what storms may come our way.
  2. In the midst of the Word of God being spoken, she felt for the first time God had revealed Himself to her, not as the terrifying judge she feared, but as the loving and tender father He is.
  3. God cares for us because we’re created in his image, but he also cares for us because the second person of the Trinity, the Son, became one of us.
  4. Our regrets and anxiety, self-abuse and addictions, violence and endless lists are signs that we don’t have an answer to the question: "Why am I here right now, alive, existing?"
  5. It seems too good to be true, and yet it is the truest of all truths. This is our God. This God sees and chooses to trample our sins under his feet.
  6. When we look to Jesus nailed up on that cross, that's God's final goodbye to our sin-blasted survival methods. No more unanswered questions. No more long goodbyes.
  7. We’d like to say that Craig and Troy wrestle with the teaching of election, but actually, it’s no struggle at all. The promises of God are freely given to all in Christ, and the elect are those who are in Him. He alone is our security.
  8. In this episode we talk about the gifts God gives His church, even in the midst of an unbelieving world.
  9. The Thinking Fellows are joined by Stephen Pietsch for a live recording in Bergen Norway.
  10. We confuse our success and failures with God’s judgment of us.
  11. Did the suffering stop? No. It actually got worse. The commands of what exercise to do next sped up and intensified for both of us. The Guide was allowing himself to be smoked with me.
  12. God is always better than your imaginings. God is greater than your thoughts about God!
